I just watched a SaaS die in 47 seconds
"Show, don't tell" is backwards for SaaS
Your visitors don't want to see your app.
They want to feel understood.
I just watched a finance SaaS die in 5 minutes.
Want to see the exact moment where I gave up (and where their customer might too)?

Time of Death: 0:47 seconds
Cause of Death: Generic positioning in a graveyard of 10,000 finance apps
The founder wrote:
"Take Control of Your Finances. Our budgeting app helps you manage your money, track expenses, and achieve your financial goals."
Every finance app says this.
Mint says this.
YNAB says this.
Your visitor's brain immediately goes "oh great, another boring finance app that I already gave up on last year”
This founder had GOLD sitting right there:
Personal finance coaching calls (nobody else does this!)
Clean, non-overwhelming UI
Focus on guilt-free spending
But instead of saying "Finally, spend on coffee dates without guilt while we handle the math"
They went with that boring techie lines.
Talk to me like I’m fatigued
Look, everyone says "show screenshots of your product."
While that is important..
Your visitors are drowning in apps.
And before you show them the interface
You need to call them out:
"You really think you'll update that Excel sheet?"
"Tired of finance apps that make you feel broke AND stupid?"
"Every budgeting app assumes you're already good with money. We assume you're human."
You need to make them feel why THEY WON’T FAIL, AGAIN.
Here's what this finance app should have done (and what yours should too):
Step 1: Call out the real problem - "You've tried 3 budgeting apps and given up on all of them"
Step 2: Position against the noise - "We're not another expense tracker. We're guilt-free spending with a safety net"
Step 3: Prove you get them - "Built for people who hate spreadsheets and love spontaneous purchases"
Step 4: Make the next step obvious - "Start with one guilt-free purchase. We'll handle the rest."
Show them their past, and their future, and don’t give them decision fatigue.
Show the way ahead, not just the app.
And show it FAST because..
Their patience is thinning the second they come to your website
They’ll give you at most five minutes to convince them to throw money at you
In five minutes they should understand
what you do
how you do
what’s your pricing
why not your compeitiors, excel or chatgpt
sign up for that free onboarding
and get a win
YES
All that in five minutes
I’ve audited 70+ startups and most of them were broke because one of this didn’t work
And the prospect just gave up..
Went to a different tab.
I call it “The Five Minutes Test”
I’ll do it LIVE on your startup, just book this FREE 15-minute Audit Call.
Cheers,
